Maxime Saint-Joannis
Let's build, in public.
Full-stack and web3 developer.
Not an expert, an experimenter. I build in the open and write it down as it happens.
The story
How I got here
Sound first
I was a music producer: writing my own tracks in Ableton Live and performing them live, professionally, around the world. Making that music meant building the machinery behind it (processing chains, racks, presets), and the tools ended up fascinating me as much as the sound.
Ableton was my development environment before I knew what one was: building a set meant wiring inputs, transforms and outputs, then saving the good ones as presets. Engineering, just with sound.
From racks to code
That urge to build my own tools pushed me into development, through The Hacking Project, where I discovered the web and then web3. It felt familiar: small composable pieces wired into bigger systems, exactly how I already worked in sound.
The bootcamp gave the instinct a language, and web3 is where it clicked hardest: smart contracts compose like modules in a rack, except the patches move real value.
Shipping on Intuition
Sofia started with a schoolmate and a $20k Intuition grant, and grew into a full ecosystem around personal data and trust circles enforced on-chain. From there came hackathons at ETHGlobal Cannes and Lisbon, paid missions for intuition.box, and one thread I keep pulling: delegation and reputation.
The grant turned a school project into responsibility: real users, an extension, an explorer, a mobile app, docs. The missions that followed (FeeProxy, Hourglass, Liquid Democracy) each went deeper into delegation.
In the open
I document the work as it happens, and every claim on this site points at something you can check: a repo, a live demo, or an address on-chain. Sofia and TrackHunter are still live, Liquid Democracy and Loka are what I'm building right now.
This site is the log: journal notes written as things ship, hackathon debriefs that keep the misses in, and a now page that says what I'm actually doing this month.
The timeline
Milestones
Music production and live performance
The originI produced my own music in Ableton Live and performed it live, professionally, on stages around the world. What hooked me as much as the music was building the machinery behind it (processing chains, racks, presets), and that urge to build my own tools is what eventually pushed me toward code.
The Hacking Project
Learning to buildThe switch into dev. A bootcamp where I discovered the web, then web3, and recognized the thing I already loved in music: small composable pieces wired into bigger systems.
TrackHunter
Music side projectBuilt in the middle of everything else, for the DJ side of me: paste a playlist and hunt its tracks across Spotify, Bandcamp, Beatport and Discogs from a single input. Proof the music thread never stopped, it just changed shape.
Sofia
Graduation project turned productStarted with a schoolmate as our graduation project, then a $20k Intuition grant pushed us to keep going. It grew into a full ecosystem around personal data and trust circles enforced on-chain: extension, explorer, mobile app, docs, landing. Still live, still the flagship.
WisPear
First hackathon (ETHGlobal Cannes)Our first hackathon. Describe the task you need done and WisPear assembles the agent for it (MCPs, model, prompt, metaprompt), guided by community feedback and votes. It left me with a question I couldn't drop: what is an agent, really?
ARP: Agent Reputation Protocol
Reputation for AI agentsMy answer to the WisPear question: an agent isn't just a model, it's a wrapper of components that should be enumerated, then weighted by the agents that use them. The POC shows one agent hiring another and rating the delivered work, while the hired agent rates the tools it used, growing an autonomous registry of agent and tool value.
Intuition FeeProxy
Paid DAO mission (intuition.box)In parallel I was assigned the official affiliate webapp for Intuition's FeeProxy singleton, a paid intuition.box mission on the protocol's audited contract, with support from the core team. Delivered: registration, fee schedules, on-chain stats and an agent integration guide.
TheKitty
2nd place (Gnosis Circles hackathon)A six-week detour into the Circles ecosystem on Gnosis: on-chain group pots that grew into a small services marketplace, with a recommender built on the Circles trust graph. It finished 2nd overall, my first hackathon placement.
Hourglass
Value delegationDeeper into value delegation with intuition.box: a non-custodial system where a beneficiary pulls their revenue directly at the source, from the account that pays them, via the MetaMask Delegation Framework (ERC-7710). We then took the idea to ETHGlobal Lisbon and built the automated version.
Liquid Democracy
Current mission (intuition.box)What I'm working on right now: a POC showing that governance responsibility itself can be delegated, scoped and enforced by ERC-7710 caveat enforcers. The same delegation thread as Hourglass, pointed at voting.
Loka
Music, full circleThe sound work kept running alongside the code and brought in a new client: Loka, a board game built around meditation. I'm designing their companion app, the place where all the audio plays and the guidance happens.
